Stephen and Laurel

This is Stephen and Laurel. They got married a while ago too. But don't worry, they've had their pictures for a LONG time.
I did their bridals out around SaltAir.

I did Laurel's bridals at the State Capitol Building. Ah great, i can't remember if it's Capitol or Capital... i remember that one is always and only a building, and the other is everything else. Hmmm... Aha! Looked it up, capitOL is always the physical building. So we took pictures in Utah's capital in the state capitol building. Look, i even remembered it correctly the first time!

Anyway, i had never done pictures before at the capitol. Turns out you have to fill out a little form and get it approved beforehand, but it was very simple and only $10. Which when compared to the crazy fees at Red Butte and Thanksgiving Point is VERY reasonable. We ended up having the place to ourselves and the light was perfect. i thought it was a great place for bridals and I'm excited to work there again.

Stephen and Laurel had their wedding ceremony at Solitude Ski Resort at Kimi's (a mountainside bistro). It was a really cool location and another fun first!

Kristin and RJ

Why is it that 11 out of 10 of my blog posts start with something alluding to the fact that it's been forEVER since i last posted? I mean, besides the obvious answer that it really has been forever? Oh, and my statistics are NOT faulty - that just means that future blogs that may be written but not posted also start that way. He he, who am i kidding, "future blogs" that have been written and not posted - yeah right!

Anyway, this is Kristin and RJ. They got married at the beginning of the year. And don't worry, i didn't just finish these pictures. it's just taken me a while to get them posted on my blog - they've been on my website for QUITE a while.

By the way, the pictures for these next few posts have actually been online for quite a while, i just haven't had the time to "write" the actual blogs and hook them up to the blog. And yes, i do actually call this "writing" a blog, no matter how lame what i write is. Some excuse, eh?

Cross your fingers, i've got a few more sets of pictures to post, let's see if i can find/make some time to get them posted over the next couple of days!

Daniel & Amanda Engagements (Part 2)

We took these pictures of Daniel and Amanda by the trailhead for Hidden Falls in Big Cottonwood Canyon.

The trailhead is on what i believe must be the north east part of the S-curve. The hike to the falls is actually only .3 miles (a very, very short .3 miles). But to really get over to the falls you either have to plan on getting wet feet and shoes or balancing your way across a log which you'll see later in the shoot.

Daniel & Amanda weren't up for the wet feet (seeing as we still had one more stop), so we settled for the pictures right here. Jen and i did end up hiking to the falls a few days agp and it is really pretty. I'm sure one of us will post some pics from that hike sometime soon. I definitely need to go back with my tripod and good light.

Hey look, it's the log! Obviously, i wasn't up for balancing my way across the log, so when Jen and I hiked it with the fam (& Niki's fam) i decided to give my supposedly waterproof socks one more try. Once again, as well as they may have kept my fee warmer, they defintely didn't keep them dryer. So we'll if the next pair i exchanged them for work any better on this upcoming Subway hike.

On to Wheeler Farm! What a cool place.

This is a pretty cool tree, but we kind of annoyed all the kids who wanted to play on it while we were taking pictures.

This is my attempt at a Direct Positive exposure feel - what do you think? Once again, thanks for stopping by. Feel free to let me know what you think of the pictures and i hope you enjoyed them. Thanks!
